The Preserve is home to many songbirds. We have a special affinity with
these musical creatures. They are the first musicians and have
been inspiring artists since the beginning of our existence.
As we listen we can hear note patterns familiar to us in much of our
music. Some have a distinct call. Some have a separate
mating call. Some like the mockingbird or cat-bird write new pieces
every day. Many of the birds hang around all year long, some
are just passing
through. Whatever their flight patterns we make sure there is feed
and a place to "hang-out" when they stop by. They provide a
constant source of inspiration for all those who spend time listening
and watching.
Below we list some of the birds we have seen visiting the property.
We will be providing a separate page with information, pictures and
sound as we watch and record them. A web cam of the feeder will soon be
posted.
Remember... If a Songbird goes extinct we loose a piece of music
forever.
